Shayne Rosenke This album was my introduction to Pagan Altar. So glad I decided to click on track 1. Doom as it should be played. Favorite track: The Lords of Hypocrisy.
Inky

Inky Due to both the phenomenal songwriting and the bizarre, long history of this band, Lords of Hypocrisy is a metal album that feels unmoored in time, existing simultaneously in every decade from the 70s to the aughts. With the exception of Sabbath, there is no finer trad/doom metal act to come out of England. Favorite track: Sentinels of Hate.

Talon Sullivan Lords of Hypocrisy is a great album and I enjoy that Pagan Altar experimented with some different sounds and layers on the songs with this one! Favorite track: The Lords of Hypocrisy.
Dunkler Meister

Dunkler Meister 9/10 | Some essential doom right here. If these dudes would've been less lazy recording albums back in the day they would be up there with Sabbath in terms of fame. Memorable riffs, unique vocals and overall great collection of songs on here. The mix is dirty but not as dirty as on Vol. 1... in every way, the record "just about hits the spot". Favorite track: The Lords of Hypocrisy.
Bloodied But Unbowed

Bloodied But Unbowed Similar to the debut album, but with better production quality. Favorite track: Armageddon.
Slyyr

Slyyr The title track is holy heavy metal scripture from this legendary band. Death will come for even the righteous, but only the good die young. Favorite track: The Lords of Hypocrisy.

about

All digital sales from this record goes directly to the band. Thanks for the support!

Featuring songs written between 1976 and 1983, Pagan Altar’s second album, Lords of Hypocrisy, is a timeless classic of macabre heavy/doom metal centered around man’s inhumanity to man and its ultimate demise. The album’s unique atmosphere is shaped by its dark '70s heavy rock riffs with a generous NWOBHM touch, haunted vocals, and majestic lead guitar parts. A gem of a record whose mysterious songs inspire total and complete devotion.
